Assistant General Manager
YONA is the world’s first floating beach club, bringing exceptional food, entertainment and unforgettable guest experiences to the Andaman Sea.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Thai national to join us as Assistant General Manager and help shape the next chapter of YONA.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll take ownership of food, beverage and service excellence across YONA. From F&B strategy, cost control and supplier relationships to commercial partnerships, quality and operational performance, you’ll be responsible for ensuring every detail reflects the experience our guests expect.
We’re looking for someone who is tenacious, commercially minded and relentlessly curious. Someone who understands that exceptional hospitality is in the detail, builds strong relationships, develops great people and has the confidence to challenge any inconsistent standards.
This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to maintain an established operation. If you need a finished playbook, this probably isn’t the role for you. If you’re excited by the opportunity to write it, build it and raise the bar across an ambitious hospitality group, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
• Set the group’s food and beverage strategy, then build the SOPs, standards and training.
• Partner with the General Manager on F&B execution, staffing and performance, staying visible and present
• Own the F&B P&L, benchmarking every unit against the others and driving the fix where numbers slip.
• Manage operational audits covering service, hygiene, safety and brand standards, and hold the line on food safety (HACCP), responsible alcohol service as well as H&S.
• Negotiate and manage supplier relationships, and hold purchasing to what was agreed.
• Track guest satisfaction, reviews and mystery guest scores, and turn the trends into action.
• Represent food and beverage at executive level, bringing the General Manager and the CEO the numbers and the recommendations for improvement.
What you’ll bring
• You are a native Thai speaker with proficient business-level English and right to work in Thailand without requiring visa sponsorship.
• You have run food, beverage and service at a senior level within a high-volume premium hospitality venue. You’ll be able to share examples of how venues have improved on your watch and say exactly what you changed.
• You understand the importance of data and can use tools to show what’s moved and by how much through POS, stock and inventory control and effective reporting.
• A natural relationship builder and strong people leadership skills. You build teams, coach managers, hold people to account, but always with respect.
• Tenacity. You chase the detail, you follow through on the action plan, and you do not let an underperforming area drift because the conversation is an uncomfortable one.
• Comfort with ambiguity and the pace of a fast-growing group. Priorities shift and you adapt quickly without ever dropping the standard.
How will success be measured?
• F&B cost percentage against budget.
• Guest satisfaction scores and online review ratings.
• F&B revenue growth and average per person spend.
• Labour cost as a percentage of F&B revenue.
• Gross operating profit contribution from F&B.
• F&B and culinary leadership retention and training completion.
• Hygiene, safety and brand standard audit scores.
What you’ll get
• Competitive salary plus incentive
• 15 days leave plus bank holidays
• Permanent, full-time role based at Royal Phuket Marina
• Food allowance on board Yona
• Gas and telephone allowance
• Annual employee party
We believe diverse perspectives create stronger ideas, better experiences and more innovative businesses. That’s why we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to do their best work, regardless of background, identity or experience.
